“Sunglasses are like red lipsticks, they change EVERYTHING.”
-Mandy Bryant
It’s summertime beauties, and I hope you’re out there living your best life and enjoying the weather responsibly! Ensure you’re using the right sunscreen (SPF 40 and above, pleaseee), showing off your gorgeous legs in all this heat, and protecting your eyes with the right sunglasses.
Living in a tropical climate all year round made me aware of the importance of wearing sunglasses. 2014, I was diagnosed with Keratoconus; since then, I’ve had several eye surgeries. After each doctor visits, I was reminded to protect my eyes with sunglasses. If you know me, then you know I had a collection long before I started selling eyewear.
It’s a chic accessory that protects your eyes from those harmful UV rays, but most importantly, when you have quick runs to make and don’t feel like wearing makeup, those sunglasses can hide a lot… I’m just saying, lol!! But seriously, the right sunglasses can enhance your daytime look, but remember that what’s currently “in style” doesn’t work well for everyone. Find the style that suits your face, and rock the hell out of it!
Based on my research, below are a few suggestions:
Heart-Shaped Face: Wide frames on the top usually work well because of the narrowness at the bottom of your face.
Oval-Shaped Face: The oval-shaped face is slightly more adaptable to any style. You can rock about any shape frame, such as round, square, oversized, and aviator. Find the style that works!
Round-Shaped Face: Oversized rectangular frames offset the roundness of your face.
Square-Shaped Face: Rimless or soft edge frames soften the robust features of a square-shaped face.
Remember, these are just general guidelines; ultimately, it’s all about what you feel confident and comfortable wearing. Feel free to try on different styles and experiment with colors, patterns, and materials. Sunglasses are meant to be fun and fashionable accessories that express your unique style.
Oh, and one last thing: remember UV protection. While we’re busy discussing frames and shapes, choosing sunglasses that effectively block those harmful UVA and UVB rays is crucial. Your eyes will thank you in the long run! Trust me!
So, armed with this newfound knowledge, go out there and rock those sunglasses like a baddie. Whether lounging on the beach or strolling the bustling city streets, remember that the right sunglasses will protect your eyes, so, as always, rock your style with unwavering confidence beauties!
